If the power steering hose is leaking on your car, you have three options for solving this issue:
1. Buy a new hose. This option is the most ideal, but also the most expensive. If the car is rare or was produced, for example, for the Asian market, be prepared for the fact that the hose, for unknown reasons, may not fit.
2. Buy hose from disassembly. At the same time, it is necessary to be aware that the hose is a consumable material and its resource is limited.
On average, this is 5 - 10 years or about 100 thousand kilometers. The resource of a hose can be more or less. And by appearance it is impossible to determine when the hose will leak.
3. Hose repair. This is our main specialty. Here we have achieved excellent results. It is on the repair of the hose that I want to dwell, describing this process in more detail.
In order for the hose repair to be successful, the following recommendations must be observed:
1. Dismantle the hose on your own or at a service station.
2. When dismantling the hose, it is necessary to strictly maintain the geometry of the hose (pipe reversal), because after repair, it will be impossible to deploy the tubes.
3. Inside the high pressure power steering hose, there is often a damper (compensator) that smooths out the pump pulsation. In order not to damage it - do not disassemble or cut the sleeve (hose) yourself.
4. The hoses are taken into operation in a clean state, so the oil must be drained.
In our workshop, you can test the hose not only for tightness, but also for throughput.
Standard repair is done by replacing the hose. Tubes and fittings remain standard. Repair time up to 1 hour.
Repair time increases depending on the complexity of the work performed, if:
- The narrowing of the flow section identified during the diagnostics is brought to the standard value.
- Damaged fragments (deformed, rusty tubes, nuts with licked threads, cracks on the tips) are replaced with new ones made by us by analogy with the sample.
Changes in tube configurations, hose extensions at the request of the Customer are possible only within reasonable limits.
